New Jerusalem Children’s Home ‘NJCH’ has come to understand the value and vital role played by its donors throughout its 16 years of existence as Child and Youth Care Centre ‘CYCC’.

New Jerusalem Children’s Home ‘NJCH’ still values you as a partner, donor – sponsor and a friend of the home and we will always value you, truly it is you who came together and assisted us to build the container house, not only did you help with the sponsorship of this residential unit, you answered our calls again when we were asking for  your assistance withthe building of our pre-school to address Early childhooddevelopmental needs for our challenged and disadvantaged children with the aim of paving their educational path. In 2015 you believed in us and joined hands in building the training and development centre which was officially opened on the 25th May 2016.

I am humbled and honoured by your warm giving heart, in giving hope and faith to our children and youth. At times I wonder what will it be like if you were not there, will our children and youth dream the way they dream today – will they be teenagers they are today, teenagers who could point and walk towards a path they see themselves making a difference through impacting others passively.

Please allow me to further thank you for attending our 2016 Annual General Meeting, which was held on the 15th October 2016 at Gallagher Convention Centre, your presence was felt and I appreciate you coming to this meeting. During the AGM and before the AGM we mentioned a need for a boy’s residential unit, a building which we believe will not only adequately shelter children but will, positively add to their esteem boost, psychological development and positive acceptance of their current social surrounding and build towards a greater future for themselves.

The building; boy’s residential unit construction work has continued from the foundation/slab phase to brick work phase, today I can confirm that again your hand has played a big role in bringing this building to roof level, I thank you for your support. With the brick work phase nearing completion, I would like to invite you to come for a tour of this much needed structure, please contact our Communications department to make your booking for a tour of this structure, the boys residential unit construction site, come and see what the building will have, provide to children and opportunities it will have for communities.

I am sure you might wish to know what we still need for the next construction phase of this building, with the completion of the brick work we will be faced with the greatest need for the following building material:

  • A roof material which is quoted at R488 167.02
  • Plumbing and Electrical components at an estimate of R95 000 – 00
  • Plastering sand (120 cubic) quoted at R46 494–00 & River sand (80 cubic) R22 770–00
  • 350 bags of cement R33 250 – 00

The above will mark the completion of the building work and lead us to the finishing phase of the construction, the finishing comprises of Ceiling | Doors | Electrical finishing components (lights and plugs switches) | Glazing | Paving | Plastering | Plumbing finishing components (taps, toilets, bath, showers sinks) | Tiling this is estimated at R590 000 – 00, in answering what is still needed – I would say we still need building material worth – in an estimate of – R1 275 681,02 – I believe you can assist us with this building material, you can join us for this doughnut, you can make a minimal donation towards the above mentioned building material.
