Compliments of the new year

Saying goodbye to the fun-fest period with all our loved ones can never be easy, memories created with them will certainly take you to the next festive period. Compliments of the new year; on behalf of the children, staff members, management, special committees and board of directors – please allow me to welcome you all into the year 2016, I believe you all had a restful and worthy festive period with families and friends.

Please allow me to share New Jerusalem Children’s Home achievements since our last Annual General Meeting “AGM” and our priorities for the sweet sixteen, yes we are celebrating 16 years of our being this year (2016) and we are looking forward to celebrating it with you. At the AGM we mentioned a need for a readiness centre for girls, a new building which will house girls when they complete their Grade 12 and attending tertiary education, a centre which will continue preparing a girl child to be respected self-sufficient women, I am pleased to info you that a readiness centre for girls is in progress. The building is currently on a roof level, trusses will be up in a weeks’ time and you are invited to view the current statues of the project to see where you can help.

The building; Halfway House for girls, needs a few things before we can say its done and ready, we still need cupboards, tables, couches, burglar bars, gates, tiles and pavement certainly and many more finishing’s which I might have missed. I call for your support and hand to assist us in finishing this building, please feel free to contact our Communication/PR office to schedule your visit.

Am sure you all remember the boy’s residential unit; one of the much needed building which will give child satisfactory housing, its time has finally arrived. It gives me so much joy to announce that as an organisation we managed to fundraise R700 000.00 towards this building and enough to commence with the foundation phase of the structure. Board of Directors of the organisation has approved that we start the construction on the 4 February 2016, this are news I have always wanted to share with you following our Woman of Passion and pledges many of you made.

There is still a good financial gap between commencement and completion of this much needed structure, the building was initially estimated at R3.8 Million, later discounted to lesser cost which gave us all a smile. Vision is now made real, I would like to call upon all men and women to come together and assist us in giving our boys a roof much needed over their head and simple child privacy, the under my bed privacy.

Am sure you all noticed that our sweet sixteen; 2016, is more about building essential structures for the betterment of children, all our building developments are in line with our vision 2021, celebration of 21 years of New Jerusalem Children’s Home being in the year 2021, five years from now on, not only that we will be celebrating the organisational being – our current teenagers will also be celebrating 21 years in this given year. In the year 2021 our vision is to have all our projects to be running, projects include the two mentioned building, acquisition of land in which a training and development centre, a Montessori Primary school and conference centre for children and communities at large will be build.

We believe our children and youth of today can develop communities and better its face, possible only if we give them the right tool, a tool being education and training under favourable conditions.
