A smile on my face

Dear partners, donors, sponsors, friends and families of New Jerusalem Children’s Home

It has been long since I touched base and shared the progress of the boys residential unit, I have been walking through the construction work of the boys residential unit, laughing and smiling with the builders of the structure – smiling as I pass through the completed sections of the building work. The success is amazing – the shape is now clear. Truly the 25th May 2017 see the building being officially opened, with this I am asking you to start practicing ululations.

It is with a warm inner smile to report to you that the brick work of the boys residential unit – actual building work – plastering of the inside wall and roofing has been completed, we are now seeing the plaster doing the plastering work on the outside walls of the building. The current plastering phase will soon bring us to the flooring phase of the building, further lead us to the end of cement work of the project. Looking at the child psychological issues this building will be addressing, I cannot stop being thankful for all the support you have given in bringing this building to its current status.

The coming to an end of the cement work, brings us – to once more ask for your assistance in completing the building and having the Boys residential unit officially opened on the 25th May 2017. In finishing the structure and having all of us coming together to celebrate its completion in May 25th – we need the following key material/products: ceiling, tiling, glasses, doors, furniture, gutters, paving and painting – I do understand that this phase of the building is a one of the bigger area and the most financially needy. Towards the compilation of the building, we have quantifies, requested quotations – the cost to complete the structure came to R542 418, 78

The questions you might have; could be – how do we get to this amount, how do we complete the boys residential unit – with all this amounts and with only less than six weeks left before the planed official opening day?

In truth it is a worrying question – we however believe that, when we started with the construction of the boys residential unit, we had you – we came to you and we said, we asked “please join us for a doughnut” we have the same principle and spirit in mind, the much larger pieces of the doughnut has been eaten and we have a few pieces left before we could say “a lovely doughnut it was”.

Together sharing the reminder of the doughnut pieces, will certainly get us to complete the building well on time. We all can sponsor a part of the remaining building material and not the whole of the needed amounts of the doughnut. In this way; we will be presented with an opportunity to help in getting the remaining pieces of the doughnut well enjoyed and complete the building as scheduled.

Please have a look at the doughnut below and cut a piece you may wish to have a cup of coffee with – you may cut a piece from any flavour you may like and enjoy your cup of tea with, see – the smaller pieces we all take, the faster we may be able to finish the doughnut, just like we did when we started with the building work in 2016.

I am sure you are already asking yourself “where do I make my contribution towards the eating of the doughnut, please make your support – pledge into our details as:
