CEO’s April update

Its all smiles on our faces; hopes and pure joy in our hearts as we enter into the second quarter of the year and the second month of our financial year. Greetings friends, partners, sponsors and donors of New Jerusalem Children’s Home.

On the 4th March 2016 we commenced with the much needed structure, boy’s residential unit – it gives me so much joy to finally see a dream of the many souls coming true, on the official starting of the building of this structure I asked communities to assist us in giving our children a roof they so much desire, response from you was and are still positive, promises to assist have been made and we are thankful for all the words of encouragement.

Today I came to update you of the progress made so far and things we still need for the building construction work. The foundation phase and walls of the foundation have been built, the slap will be put on, on Monday 4th April 2016. As mentioned in our previous publication, New Jerusalem Children’s Home managed to fundraise R700 000.00 which was enough to start with the building work. Now is the time we come to ask for you for help; we managed to source out all the foundation phase material needed by the contractor, we need your help with material to get the building out of the foundation to brick work.

As much as am at peace, happy and thankful to all those who answered our call in fundraising the R700 000.00 and many who will be answering our request for sponsorship and donations towards the completion of this building, now is the time of need, we need your help, we need you to come out to visit and the progress made on the building and to make your pledge, we do understand that time to come out might not be possible but should it be possible please do visit.

The 556 square meter building; boy’s residential unit, will have bedrooms to shelter 40 boys and 2 house parents, sick rooms for the home, it will give our boys a homework-study area to address children’s educational care and it will cater for a child’s entertainment needs with a TV and lounge room. The immediate need and support I wish you to assist with is the building material: cement stock brick, building sand, cement window lintels and brick forces. Quantities of the materials is available and can be provided to you on your request.

Myself and the team are ready to walk you between walls of New Jerusalem Children’s Home, to present our building progress and the organisational progress made so far, progress dating from the year 2000 when we started, secure a date and visit us from 9am to 3pm week days or Saturday from 10am to 1pm. Coming onsite will give you the insight of our organisation, you will see how our boys are currently sleeping, it will give you guidelines and present you with areas you can sponsor in giving our children a dream home.
