Welcoming the builders back

Continuation of the boys residential unit construction work at New Jerusalem Children’s Home

Today marks yet another joyful day at New Jerusalem Children’s – as we welcome back the boys residential unit builders return for the continuation of their work, returning to giving children of the home a well build structure.

As the builders resume their duties, they have asked us to make available the remaining building material, which will enable them to complete the structure on time. Together, New Jerusalem Children’s Home and the builders, aimed to have the structure completed on the last day of March 2017. We know that we have your support as our partners in bettering lives of children and youth in our home, we are confident that with your support we will have the needed building material the builders have asked for.

Currently the builders have asked for:

  • R288 167.02 Roofing sheet
  • 60 cubic of plastering sand
  • 80 cubic of river sand
  • 350 bags of cement
  • Electrical and plumbing cubing

At New Jerusalem Children’s Home we believe in one thing “sharing” I know you might be looking at material needed and thinking “what might this possibly cost” well to complete the current phase we need R590 000.00 – it is a lot of money if you ask me.

Question comes to be “how do we – we meaning all of us – attain the presented financial number, the building material and give the boys of the home a roof they so much need by the end of March 2017”? #smiling

In August 2017, weeks before we commenced with the building work, we asked you to you “please join us for a doughnut” – many of you joined us, many said, “lets please meet in the year with something towards this building”.

We still believe in the same August 2016 breath, breath of sharing the doughnut with you. You can make a contribution of however amount towards the building, the little you put in will go a long way, it came a long way already – imagine how much further it can go.

You can make a donation direct into our account, Absa |Branch: Midrand | Branch code: 632005 | Account type: Business Current Account | Account type: Business Current Account | Account no: 40-6878-3216 | Account name: New Jerusalem Chidrens Home | Swift code: ABSAZAJJ (for international transactions) Reference: BRU followed by your initials and Surname.

We believe that on the 25 May 2017 the boys residential unit will be official opened. Already we are imagining you joining us for a celebration of the victory, dressed in your African outfit, ready to ululate as the ribbon is cut to let the children, and youth of the home enter their long awaited structure.
