This Year’s Mandela Day has come and gone however New Jerusalem Children’s Home ‘NJCH’ will forever remember it as one which saw numerous boundaries broken down for a common cause of service, all in the in name of homage to the late Tata Madiba. In a 2 day period of heavy activities at the home, NJCH saw itself host multiple corporates such as Anglo American who did gardening work, RS – Components who painted vast areas around the home and donated grocerries, Afric Oil who painted, PicknPay who did planting of a garden, Sandown travel, Remax property Group, and CTI who did various painting jobs around the home. Other main contributors over the 2 day course were CHETA and GFIA who did lovely paint jobs across the home.

New Jerusalem kids were not left out during the day as they did their bit of service by donating blankets to an old age home ‘Supa Di Mama’. To promote a spirit of unity NJCH facilitated a communal lunch for all corporate volunteers to come together and socialize over a hot meal after a day of work. The day was made fun for the children as well as they were included in work activities such as painting to fun games and jumping castles.

The feelings of the organization on the day are echoed by the words of our CEO Mme Anna Mojapelo ‘The day was just beautiful and harmonious’.
As New Jerusalem Children’ Home we would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the corporates and individuals who came to New Jerusalem Children’s Home to honor their 67 minutes and beyond of service and we definitely hope that we can see you same time next year.

On a final note New Jerusalem Children’s Home will be hosting its very own women’s day event tagged ‘Woman of Passion Lunch’. This event serves as a platform to commemorate women of all walks of life. It further seeks to serve as tribute event to the founding sisters on New Jerusalem Children’s Home Mme Anna and Mme Phina Mojapelo. We encourage all to partake in this glorious occasion by inquiring with the home for tickets.
