2017 race has been well ran

The 2017 race has been well ran; it is time to seat and breath a bit – reflect and gear for the year 2018.

It was only yesterday when we all came together to say “Happy New Year” today we meet again to say “we wish you a safe and fun festive period” truly a year circle is shorten than we used to have back in the days.

New Jerusalem Children’s Home, would like to thank you for your hand throughout the year. 2017 has not been an easy year, many companies and organisation faced a challenging economic time during the year. Irrespective of the difficult days of the year, you never stopped visiting our home, you never stopped supporting us. We thank you.

It is truly heart-warming; its an amazing feeling – looking at how much we have attained throughout the year – it would not have been possible without you, your support and passion in our work of caring for the orphaned, abandoned, abused, traumatized, vulnerable and HIV positive children and youth. Today, New Jerusalem Children’s Home – is getting ready to move the boys of the home into the newly built boys residential unit, one of the key projects of the home, which will see our boys being well sheltered. The economic climate has forced many construction projects to be suspended during the year 2017, you kept New Jerusalem Children’s Home – boys residential unit construction project going, leading it to be where it is today – a few touches towards moving the boys in.

Not only do we thank you for helping us towards giving a roof over our children’s heads, you kept gates and doors of New Jerusalem Children’s Home open, from the beginning of the year to this day – our children received key services aiming to better their lives. They went to school dressed in their full school uniform, one’s made possible by you – they left home with lunch-boxes, after having a warm healthy breakfast. Coming back home, from school they enjoyed a well prepared meal – before going to bed they had their dinner – daily from the first day of the year to this very same day. We are endlessly humbled by your giving hand.

The festive period is knocking on our doors, we know you may wish to give towards our children and youth. It is our tradition, that during this time of the year, as much we may wish to give our children and youth a present, at New Jerusalem Children’s Home, we believe that a festive period might be the best time to provide a full school uniform for all our children, which will help us to start preparing for the children’s schooling days in the coming year, should you wish to touch a child’s life this festive period, we would strongly request that you please look into the school needs of our children and youth… Please click here for a school uniform information, daily needs and stationary needs for our children.

New Jerusalem Children’s Home, calls upon all men and women to assist with the last touches of the boys residential unit – we still need assistance with the completion of the boys residential unit, we still need lights, basins, wardrobes, rainwater-harvest tanks and furniture for the building. The year 2017 has been one of the best year in our organisation, financially difficult as it may have been, it showed us how much you mean to us as our partner, donor, sponsor and a friend of the home. The economy, in our country was difficult, but you made it easier for us by giving towards our needs, you choose to make a difference in lives of the orphaned, abandoned, abused, traumatized, vulnerable and HIV positive children and youth in our care.

We do know that you wish to help in more structured ways, in a way more measurable and sustaining way, we do know that all the children in our care can be made better by your giving. You can make a contribution towards the betterment of a child once off, biannual, quarterly and or monthly. You can make contributions of however much, Funds made available to us will assist with key basic needs for children and youth wellbeing – they will help in sourcing for children’s food, medical supplies, water and electricity bills and many other needs of the home.

New Jerusalem Children’s Home; is a registered Emergency and Relief/ Temporary shelters organisation, under Section 12 (A-O) of the Non-profit Organisations (NPO) Act, 1997 (Act 71 of 1997). NJCH is a non-profit company and qualifies as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO). This allows a tax benefit to New Jerusalem Children’s Home donors. NJCH may issue Section 18A receipts for donations, which allows for donations of up to 10% of taxable income to be deducted from such income, as stated under Section 18A (1) (b) of the IT Act, 1962, NJCH is also a classified as Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment organisation under B-BBEE Act, 2003 (Act No. 53 of 2003).
