The Mojapelo Sisters

About the Mme: Mojapelo and Anna Mojapelo

New Jerusalem Children’s Home (NJCH) was founded in the year 2000 by sisters Anna and Phina Mojapelo, in response to the devastating impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Our Home was born out of an urgent need to care for the many children who lost their parents, families, and futures to this devasting crisis in the early 2000s.

Anna a legal advocate by profession, was working as a Public Prosecutor at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court when she was deeply moved by the number of children in conflict with the law. This experience led her to change career paths and, together with her sister, Phina Mojapelo, establish New Jerusalem Children’s Home.

Anna Mojapelo is a passionate children’s advocate whose commitment to community service began as a personal hobby grew into a lifelong mission. She is a seasoned businesswoman and an experienced leader in community development and poverty alleviation with over 30 years of service in the Midrand area and extensive international travel experience, Anna has dedicated much of her life to ministering to children and youth. She is actively involved in numerous community-building and economic sustainable development projects. Today she serves as the Chief Executive Officer of New Jerusalem Children’s Home (NJCH), leading the organisation with vision and compassion.

Phina Mojapelo was a dedicated social worker with more than 30 years of experience serving vulnerable communities her work focused on supporting the elderly, youth, children, and individuals with HIV/AIDS. Phina was especially passionate about youth development through educational excursions and promoting green technologies. She served as the Chief Social Worker at NJCH until her passing in 2022, leaving behind a powerful legacy of love, service, and transformation.
