NJCH in 2018 and vision 2021

It gives us a great pleasure to announce that the boys residential unit, is on its total completion and final installation phase, the cornice and wall units – which were the last construction items to be installed –are now being put up and we are looking to have them completed by no later than end of April 2018.

It goes without a say, an official open day of this much needed building is around the corner – your determination to give again and again, has and is giving children and youth the much needed child privacy for their physical and psychological development, we have so much wished for over the years. We are humbled and honoured to be in such an amazing partnership with you – your giving, you bringing us in conversation with your friends and family has finally honoured a child with hope for a better tomorrow.

The completion of a boys residential unit; a structure that adequately shelters all the children and youth of the home, New Jerusalem Children’s Home, gives an opportunity to the organisation – a chance to continue with activities towards vision 2021, a vision which aim to create an enabling environment for children and youth. The year 2018 gives the home an opportunity to focus on the educational wellbeing of the children and youth. To see all children excelling in their studies and career paths thus equipping them to become future leaders and entrepreneurs, who will positively contributing in the societies and communities they find themselves in.

On Sunday – March 04, 2018 – New Jerusalem Children’s Home started with the building of a school block, a school block which will have 6 classrooms that are planned to offer a full Montessori curriculum to children of the home – from Grade 1 to grade 7 – yes the home is building a primary school for its children. The planned primary school will be open to children from the communities, making it even better for social cohesion, the school block will accommodate a total of 210 pupils.

New Jerusalem Children’s Home, wishes to give children and youth the best Montessori primary education – you may remember that, the organisation has a pre-school onsite, which over the year – it has offered the best foundation phase education, to both children of the home and those from nearby communities. The home wishes to continue the best foundation phase education into a primary school phase, who knows – maybe the future might allow for a secondary school to continue the giving of best scientific education.

Education remain one of an important key in lives of people, more in lives of the orphaned, abandoned, abused, traumatized, vulnerable and HIV positive children and youth – quality education comes to be more integral in lives of children and youth at large – hence the South African national development plan, vision 2030 – chapter nine of the plan – even says “lay a solid foundation for a long and healthy life and higher education and scientific achievement” it is on this base that New Jerusalem Children’s Home wishes to build a primary school block within its yard.

We would like you to please get involved, in the building and giving of a primary school block, we would like you to please assist us with R25 000.00 or more towards the sourcing of the building material. Please allow us to point you to the educational condition in our country, the writing and reading inability by most of our children and youth in booth primary and secondary schools. Your support – is a solution to an educational challenge faced by our country, your hand will ensure that the best educational curriculum is given to the previously disadvantaged and those they live with.
